Best of Scandinavian News Design Reloaded
SNDS announces that next years competition Best of Scandinavian News Design will put far more focus on online design
“Online media are a fully integrated part of the media landscape and the media economy. So it is natural to put more focus on online media in the yearly competition,” says Flemming Hvidtfeldt chairman of Best of Scandinavian News Design competition.
The net jury has worked hard to make a new concept for the online part of the competition and the result of their work will be a part of the concept for next year’s competition.
The online competition will be on equal terms with the printed part instead of a category, as it has been for years. The online media will have their own categories. They are:
- Best front page
- Best section page
- Best article page
- Best theme (feature, story, subsite or page)
- Best application (for instance web-tv, maps, community, etc.)
- Best overall site design based on media brand
- Open class
The jury will judge online media in the above categories based on four criteria – visual design, interactivity, usability and structure and journalism/editing.
More information about the competition in general and the new online categories will be online soon.
The SNDS net jury is:
Kim Pedersen, Ekstrabladet, Danmark
Linda Constenius, Aftonbladet
Elin Madsen, Bergensavisen, Norge
Jari Jurkka, Pohjalainen, Finland
