Editorial from SNDS Magazine 3, 2016: – It’s no longer breaking news, but many Scandinavian media houses are struggling to survive. In early August, Danish JP/Politikens Hus announced the cut-down of 55 editorial jobs within its flagship publications Politiken, Ekstra Bladet and Jyllands-Posten.
In Sweden, Mittmedia – publisher of 28 daily local newspapers – have been seriously discussing plans to cut 75 % of all journalistic jobs within the next two to three years – and since June Stampen Media Group has been subject to a reconstruction process, which may or may not mean the end of the company.
Editorial from SNDS Magazine 2, 2016: – In his book Living With Complexity Donald A. Norman argues against the dogma that simple is always better. His area of interest is the tools we use in computing and in everyday life – tools that are often seen as too complicated.
But ‘complex’ and ‘complicated’ are two very different things. The world may be complex but the tools and technology we use to get through the day should not be complicated to operate. And it is up to both designers and users to make them manageable and understandable.

For the first time, we had the pleasure of having an Estonian judge in the SNDS competition, following the decision in late 2015 to include the Baltic countries in the region covered by SND Scandinavia.
