Society for News Design Scandinavia, which is promoting good news design on all platforms and run a yearly design competition, is becoming a larger geographically organization in the next few month.
At the last board meeting at SND (Society for News Design) in Orlando the board accepted a proposal from SNDS of expanding.
Until now SNDS has included Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Greenland and Faroe Islands. In the future the organization will also include the Baltic countries Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
“I am very pleased that SND has accepted our proposal of expanding SNDS,” the chairman of SNDS, Flemming Hvidtfeldt, says.
“It is quite natural to include the mentioned countries in our society and I know the expansion will strengthen SNDS as well as give more inspiration to SNDS on news design in favour of all members”, Flemming Hvidtfeldt says.
The inclusion of the Baltic countries mean, that the design competition “Best News Design Scandinavia, will invite news organizations from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to participate in the competition. Furthermore news organizations from the mentioned countries will be invited to the annual conference held by SNDS.
